Terms & Conditions
Last updated October 2026.
These terms govern your use of this website and the vehicle transport services arranged by E-Z Auto Transport.
Quotes and estimates
Prices shown by the calculator on this site are estimates. They are calculated from the estimated road distance between the ZIP codes you enter, at the published per-mile rate plus a base fee, for open carrier transport. Estimates provided are for open carrier. Add $500 for enclosed.
An estimate is not a binding contract. The final rate is confirmed when a carrier is assigned and may differ where the vehicle is oversize, modified, inoperable, or where the pickup or delivery location, dates or seasonal demand affect carrier availability. We will confirm the final rate with you before dispatch.
Booking and payment
- No payment is taken until a carrier is assigned to your vehicle.
- A deposit is due at that point; the balance is payable to the driver at delivery.
- Accepted payment methods are confirmed at booking.
Pickup and delivery windows
Auto transport operates on pickup and delivery windows, not fixed appointments. Estimated dates are given in good faith and can be affected by weather, traffic, mechanical issues, federal hours-of-service rules and other vehicles on the same load. We are not liable for consequential losses arising from a delay. Where a firm date is essential, expedited service is available.
Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate pickup and delivery addresses, contact details and vehicle information, including whether the vehicle runs, rolls, steers and brakes.
- Have the vehicle available and accessible during the agreed window.
- Ensure you or a named representative is present at pickup and delivery to inspect the vehicle and sign the Bill of Lading.
- Remove personal belongings. Carriers are licensed to transport vehicles, not household goods. Items left in the vehicle are not covered by cargo insurance and may cause the load to exceed DOT weight limits.
- Disclose any modification affecting height, width, weight or ground clearance.
Inspection and claims
The Bill of Lading signed at pickup and delivery is the definitive record of the vehicle's condition. Any new damage must be noted on the delivery Bill of Lading before the driver leaves. Claims not documented at delivery are extremely difficult to pursue. Report damage to us immediately and we will file against the carrier's cargo policy on your behalf.
Insurance
Every carrier we dispatch to holds active cargo insurance, verified before your vehicle is assigned. Coverage limits vary by carrier and are available on request. Personal belongings, aftermarket items not disclosed at booking, and damage arising from pre-existing mechanical condition are not covered.
Cancellation
You may cancel at no charge at any time before a carrier is assigned. Once a carrier has been dispatched, cancellation may incur a fee reflecting the carrier's committed costs. Terms are confirmed at booking.
Prohibited items
Firearms, hazardous materials, flammables, illegal substances, live animals and perishables must not be left in the vehicle.
Website use
Content on this site is provided for information. Distances, transit times and prices are estimates. We make no warranty that the site will be uninterrupted or error free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability in connection with a shipment is limited to the amount you paid for that shipment. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses including lost income, rental costs or missed appointments.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois.
